Prophet Muhammed’s birthday: Paid holiday for private secttor

08th October marks Prophet Muhammed’s ( PBUH ) birthday

The UAE has announced a holiday for all private sectors on Saturday, 08th October. This marks Prophet Muhammed’s ( PBUH ) birthday.

The holiday was announced by the Ministry of Human Resource and Emiratisation ( MoHRE ).

Prophet Muhammed’s birthday is observed on 12 Rabi’ Al-Awwal 1444. This is the third month accordingly to the Islamic calendar.

Both public and private sectors in the UAE have unified holidays.

There is also a long weekend in the UAE in the first week of December. Commemoration Day falls on 01st December ( Thursday ). It is a day of remembrance for the nation’s heroes who lost their lives whilst serving the country.

The UAE National Day is celebrated on 02nd December ( Friday ).

As of now, official holidays begin from Thursday, 01st December until Sunday. 04th December.

The first public holiday will fall in the month of April on account of Eid Al-Fitr.

Residents can expect a four day weekend during this time.
