The Junior Marine Biologist program is a hands on after-school educational experience
Located in Al Qana, Abu Dhabi’s premier waterfront dining and entertainment destination, The National Aquarium recently announced the launch of its newest program, Junior Marine Biologist. It is designed specifically for children aged 5 – 15. The National Aquarium will offer students a unique opportunity to step into the shoes of a marine biologist and learn what it’s like to care for 300 species and more than 46,000 animals.
It will enable junior marine biologists to gain access to behind-the-scenes information. As they explore the aquarium’s diverse animal population. Members of the aquarium’s staff will guide them through a unique experience. Through the National Aquarium’s animal husbandry program, children can assist with animal feedings, enrichment, cleaning, and daily checks.
They will also learn about the science behind caring for various species. Junior Marine Biologists will also assist in caring for rescued sea turtles from the Wildlife Rescue Program, as part of the National Aquarium’s conservation education program.
For just AED 350 per child, parents can enroll their children in the National Aquariums’ Junior Marine Biologist program, which includes the three-hour behind-the-scenes access, as well as the aquarium journey.
The educational program is available for bookings Mondays to Thursdays from 4 PM to 7 PM and on Fridays from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM. Junior Marine Biologists must arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the activity and must be dressed in long pants and closed shoes, to ensure their safety.
