For the first time Yas Links will host the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship

The 2022 Rolex series will take place from 20th to 23rd January 2022

The Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship will be moving to Yas Island for the first time. The 2022 Rolex series will be taking place at Yas Links Abu Dhabi. Abu Dhabi Sports Council ( ADSC ) and the European tour announced the entertaining destination will move to Yas Island.

The Kyle Phillips designed course ranks 48th in the Golf Digest’s global top 100 courses. Yas Links will herald a new chapter for the prestigious event as it moves to one of the world’s fastest growing leisure and entertainment destinations.

The Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship has been taking place at Abu Dhabi Golf Club since its inception in 2006. Yas Island in Abu Dhabi has been positioned as an international sports hub. The season ending of F1 Championship and Ultimate Fighting Championship have also taken residency at this world class venue.

Aldar Properties-owned Yas Links is famous for its signature finishing holes on 16, 17 and 18. They are considered as one of the toughest trios in the UAE. The 17th edition of the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship will be the first of back-to-back Rolex Series events.

Tournaments would be held in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, part of the traditional ‘Desert Swing’ attracting golf’s leading players.
