Get ready for an epic showdown as Abu Dhabi gears up to host its inaugural UFC Fight Night in August. The highly anticipated fight card has been unveiled, promising an electrifying event for MMA fans worldwide.
No. 2 ranked bantamweight, Cory Sandhagen, is set to square off against No. 9 ranked Umar Nurmagomedov on Saturday, 03rd August. Presented in collaboration with the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi), this thrilling matchup is one not to be missed.
Tickets for the event go on sale today at 1pm GST via etihadarena.ae and ticketmaster.ae. Fight Club members and those who registered early can take advantage of the pre-sale. Additionally, VIP Experience packages are available, offering premium seating, exclusive access to weigh-ins, all-inclusive hospitality, and meet-and-greets with UFC athletes.
Sandhagen, hailing from Aurora, Colorado, looks to stake his claim in the bantamweight division title race, having previously defeated formidable opponents such as Rob Font and Chito Vera. Meanwhile, Nurmagomedov, undefeated and fighting out of Chelyabinsk, Russia, aims to make his mark in the UAE after impressive victories over the likes of Raoni Barcelos and Brian Kelleher.
This historic UFC Fight Night marks the first of its kind in Abu Dhabi, with the capital city hosting various UFC events in the past but never a Fight Night. H.E. Saleh Al Geziry, Director General for Tourism at DCT Abu Dhabi, expressed excitement about the milestone, stating, “Hosting Abu Dhabi’s first-ever UFC Fight Night is a major milestone in our ongoing partnership.
