Cinema Events On The Rise In The Capital

Outdoor Cinema with popcorn

Thanks to streaming services like Netflix, Amazon prime video and Starzplay, watching movies at home is now easy as touching the TV’s remote control.

But there’s still nothing like seeing a film in the big screen and in the company of fellow viewers whether inside the cinema or an open field.

If you agree with us then you’ll be happy to know that there are cinema events taking place in Abu Dhabi for movie fans of all ages to enjoy.

So sit back, relax and take note of these film showings worth seeing…

Cinema Space

We say that Cinema Space is an institution already when it comes to community film showings in the capital.

This cinema event is running screenings all year round regardless of the season and weather. We’ve seen it grow from strength to strength since its beginning from twofour54 to its current home at Manarat Al Saadiyat.

Synopsis: One of Ingmar Bergman’s pinnacle works, Wild Strawberries is an intensely moving, highly lyrical drama of affirmation and reconciliation. Victor Sjöström, Sweden’s pre-eminent director before Bergman, gives a memorable performance as Isak Borg, a distinguished professor travelling by car from Stockholm to Lund, where he is to receive an honorary degree. Accompanying him is daughter-in-law Marianne (Ingrid Thulin), whose marriage to Borg’s son Evald (Gunnar Björnstrand) is troubled. A flood of memories, daydreams, and nightmares assails the aging protagonist along the way, forcing him to take stock of his life, confront his shortcomings, and accept his mortality. In tandem with The Seventh Seal, released the same year, Wild Strawberries established the international vogue for Bergman’s cinema. . #film #movies #cinema #filmmaking #ingmarbergman #sweden #swedishcinema #filmpreservation #filmrestoration #victorsjöström #oscars #nostalgia #imagination #life #family #marriage #journey #dreams #inabudhabi #abudhabi #abudhabievents #myabudhabi #manaratalsaadiyat #saadiyatisland #saadiyat #yasisland #alrahabeach #albateen #uae
