The capital welcomes an innovative addition to its public transportation with the introduction of tram-like electric buses in Abu Dhabi. It provides a futuristic and eco-friendly mode of travel.

Operating on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, the Autonomous Rapid Transit (ART) vehicles have initiated service, connecting Reem Mall to Rixos Marina Abu Dhabi via a 14-stop route. It offers a convenient and sustainable transportation option for residents and visitors.

These cutting-edge electric buses in Abu Dhabi can carry up to 240 passengers and aims to revolutionize transportation within the emirate.

The Abu Dhabi ART service stops at various key locations, including Marina Square, The Galleria Al Maryah Island, Sheikh Hazza Bin Sultan Mosque, City Seasons Al Hamra Hotel, Lifeline Hospital, NMC Specialty Hospital, Qasr Al Hosn, Sheraton Khalidiya Hotel, Khalidiya Park, Sheikha Fatima Park, Corniche, and Marina Mall.

The first service of the day departs from Reem Mall at 10 am and reaches Rixos Marina Mall in just over an hour.

To cater to diverse schedules, there are five services each way, commencing on the hour from Reem Mall and returning at a quarter past the hour, with the final service arriving just after 4 pm.

Passengers can easily access service timings and track the ART vehicles through the Darbi app, provided by the Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) of the Department of Municipalities and Transport in Abu Dhabi.

For added convenience, passengers can utilize the free service by scanning the QR code on the vehicle with the Txai app. On Yas Island, the ART operates an hourly route from 8 am to 8 pm, covering locations such as Gateway Park South 2, Yas Waterworld, Yas Hotels, Yas Marina Circuit, and Ferrari World.
