The electric scooter rental service which was stalled since Covid-19 will continue to operate at 25% capacity.
The electric scooter rental services will be available throughout the city in areas like Al Reem Island, Al Maryah Island, Al Zahia, Al Dana and parts of Al Bateen, Corniche and Marina.
It is obviously a mode of transportation that will be used by the public at large and therefore necessary preventive measures are in place to avoid community transmission. The scooter rental companies will provide customers with single-use gloves, hand-sanitizers, and disinfectant wipes. All the staff that help the customers out with the rules and guide them on using the scooters will also be wearing masks and gloves at all times. All staff working in the facilities will undergo Covid-19 tests before they join.
The Integrated Transport Centre has reiterated – “The ITC called on operators and riders of e-scooters to adhere to the health and safety preventive measures at all times to limit the spread of the Covid-19 and protect the public health,”.
“It stressed on restricting the use of e-scooters to the permitted areas and cautioned against riding them on roads designated for vehicles.”
