Hudayriyat Island, the premier leisure and sports hub in Abu Dhabi developed by Modon Properties, is taking the initiative to celebrate Pink October.
Hudayriyat Island will host a series of engaging events aimed at women across the UAE. Pink October, observed globally since 1985, focuses on raising awareness about breast cancer, emphasizing the importance of regular screenings for early detection and available support options.
Breast cancer is a prevalent concern, with 2.26 million new cases and 685,000 deaths reported worldwide in 2020. However, the number of breast cancer-related deaths has decreased by 43% since 2020, thanks to early detection, improved treatments, and increased awareness.
Modon Properties is proud to launch its fourth annual awareness campaign this October, dedicated to spreading positivity, fostering discussions on breast health, and encouraging the community to take proactive steps.
Hudayriyat Island’s month-long program kicks off with a serene sunset yoga session on the overwater cycling bridge, offering breathtaking views of the island’s famous sunset. Following the yoga session, women can socialize and bond over mocktails, smoothies, and healthy snacks.
The second week of October brings the Hudayriyat Sport’s Dragon Boat series, featuring two women’s races – 200m and 500m – in Marsana.
During the third week, the focus shifts to padel, the world’s fastest-growing sport, and football, the most popular sport. A double women’s tournament at 321 Sports will be organized entirely by an all-women team, including umpires and ball kids, with the presence of Emirati padel champions and Hudayriyat Sport Ambassadors Alia Taher and Aisha Alawadhi. Skate enthusiasts can also join the Skate for Pinktober event at the Skate Park at Circuit X on the same day.
As the culmination of the She Rides series in October, the Women’s Cycling Championship takes center stage, featuring a challenging 50 km route with the finish line at Bab at Nojoum. Winners will have the chance to claim exciting prizes.
