Prepare for an adrenaline-fueled spectacle as Abu Dhabi welcomes the inaugural Mubadala Abu Dhabi Sail Grand Prix presented by Abu Dhabi Sports Council.
Set against the picturesque backdrop of Mina Zayed, the historic port of Abu Dhabi, this thrilling event will showcase the world’s finest sailing talents in action from 13th – 14th January, 2024.
In partnership with SailGP’s Global Series Partner, Mubadala Investment Group, and the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, this event marks a significant addition to the Season 4 schedule of SailGP, one of the fastest-growing sports leagues globally.
Abu Dhabi joins the league’s prestigious list of venues, including New York, Los Angeles, Sydney, Saint-Tropez, and San Francisco.
Tickets are now available, allowing fans to witness the heart-pounding racing action on water. Ten national teams from Australia, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Great Britain, New Zealand, Spain, Switzerland, and the United States will compete fiercely in identical hydro foiling F50 catamarans, capable of reaching speeds nearing 100 km/h.
Sheikh Ahmed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan, President of the Emirates Modern Sailing and Rowing Federation, highlighted the significance of Abu Dhabi hosting this thrilling event, solidifying its status as a premier sporting destination in the region. The Sail Grand Prix represents the pinnacle of sailing, combining elite sailing techniques with modern scientific methods in a teamwork-driven challenge.
Mina Zayed provides a stunning vantage point for fans to immerse themselves in the high-speed foiling F50 catamaran races, taking place right at Dhow Harbour. Witness the intense competition as the ten national teams compete over two days, racing in five thrilling contests, leading to a final showdown among the top three teams to determine the event’s victor.
