Inaugural Edition Of Hero Abu Dhabi
Experience the thrill of the inaugural HERO Abu Dhabi mountain bike race on Hudayriyat Island. Known as Abu Dhabi’s premier leisure and sports hub developed by Modon. From 09th to 11th February, 2024, immerse yourself in the excitement of the world’s toughest mountain bike marathon, making its way from the Italian Dolomites to the heart of the UAE capital.
Organized by Modon in collaboration with HERO Südtirol Dolomites, this prestigious global sports event solidifies Abu Dhabi’s status as a Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) Bike City. The action unfolds at Trail X, an advanced mountain biking facility, offering a breathtaking backdrop on Hudayriyat Island.
HERO Abu Dhabi is set to draw professional cyclists, amateurs, and bike enthusiasts alike. Against the stunning scenery, participants will vie for victory in the XCO-Cross-Country Olympic and XCC-Short Track events—both crucial qualifiers for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.
The challenging XCO circuit spans 5.4 km with a 70-meter elevation gain, while the XCC Short Tracks, designed for high-speed excitement, cover 1.2 km with a 10-meter elevation gain. As a milestone, the program includes the Amateur Race and Kids’ Race, providing enthusiasts of all ages a chance to compete on the very trails that may see future Olympic medalists.
Hudayriyat Island boasts world-class cycling facilities and infrastructure, catering to athletes of all levels.
