This will be the second Swedish furniture store of IKEA in the capital.
People living in the city will soon no longer have to travel to Yas Island to shop at the giant Swedish furniture store. A new one is set to open this coming July in Al Wadha Mall.
Once the second branch of IKEA in Abu Dhabi opens, there will be a total of five branches throughout the UAE.
The agreement to open a branch at Al Wahda Mall was done so through a Memorandum of Understanding, which was signed between Wajeb Al Khoury, director of Line Investments and Property (the shopping mall development and management division of LuLu Group) and Vinod Jayan, managing director of Al-Futtaim IKEA, in the presence of Ashraf Ali M.A, executive Director of LuLu Group, in a special function held at LuLu Group Regional Office in Dubai.
The new 2,136 square metre store will feature category-based product collections along with classic restaurant delights and Swedish treats in a sit-down setting.
The new branch will be located on the first level of Al Wahda Mall, IKEA in Abu Dhabi, IKEA in UAE, which operates under Line Investments and Property.
