To The Moon And Back, Get Your Hands On These Mooncakes

Legend has it that Chinese emperors would offer mooncakes to the moon during autumn to pray for a plentiful harvest for the following year.

This period – which falls on the 15th day of the 8th lunar month – is popularly known as Mid-Autumn or Night of the Moon.

In observance of this tradition, Shangri-La Hotels across the UAE have unveiled a selection of yummy mooncakes, including new regional flavours exclusively made by chefs from the hotel’s five restaurants in the region.

The usual favourites, namely, Lotus Seed Paste, Coconut Green Tea, Red Bean and Mixed Nut, are still very much around for foodies to re-experience.

Meanwhile, the new regional mooncake flavours are dates, pistachio and saffron – all handcrafted by the hotel’s chefs from Abu Dhabi and Dubai in the UAE, Bosphorus in Istanbul and New Delhi in India.
