Free ride with these new driverless bus services in Abu Dhabi

Free Driverless Bus Services
Currently operational around Abu Dhabi’s Yas Island

TXAI had introduced free driverless bus services which are now operational. Currently these services are available on Abu Dhabi’s Yas Island.

The Integrated Transport Centre ( ITC ) first launched the free driverless bus service in November to coincide with Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

The new bus service is free of charge with seats for seven people stopping at nine locations on Yas Island. These include Yas Waterworld Abu Dhabi, W Hotel, Yas Marina Circuit, Ferrari World Abu Dhabi.

The free driverless bus service also has LED screens inside each cabin to display the map of the route with stop-off points.

Txai will also be introducing UAE’s first fully driverless taxi service.

The project has been integrated with a lot of digital maps, technologies, radar, LiDER and cameras to make it possible. The driverless bus service is free to access by downloading the TXAI app on google play or Apple Store.

The driverless mini bus has been developed building on the company’s experience with the pilot-robo-taxi, which have been on trial for almost a year.

Plans are underway to operate on Saadiyat Island at some point in 2023.

The month-long trial of TXAI driverless taxi service had 2,730 people book the ride-sharing service.
