40 minute firework on display to ring the New Year

New Year’s Eve in Abu Dhabi is all set with a big bang. The Sheikh Zayed Festival in Abu Dhabi will set not one but three Guinness World Records with a 40-minute fireworks display to ring in the New Year.

Last year the fireworks display on New Year’s Eve created two records with a 35 minute show. This year the record will be broken in terms of volume, form and duration with 40 minutes of firework display.

Concerts by Emirati singer Eida Al Menhali and Iraqi artist Ali Saber will set the momentum before the fireworks. There will also be a drone show that will write ‘ Welcome 2022’ in the skies for the first time ever.

Apart from this, there will be a host of other events, dances and activities for people of all ages to enjoy as they usher in the New Year.

The Festival, which will run until April 1, 2022, highlights the UAE’s heritage and civilisation. It aims to enhance Abu Dhabi’s stature as a leading tourism and cultural destination in the region.
