How To Spread Goodness Using Twitter

Twitter Charity Campaign

Tech giant Twitter is all over UAE news – and for a good reason.

Its co-founder Jack Dorsey is currently in town to promote a new initiative called #YouthForGood.

The project, in cooperation with the UAE’s Youth Hub and Her Excellency Shamma bint Suhail Faris Al Mazrui, Minister of State for Youth Affairs, is calling on members of the community to help spread word on humanitarian and social causes.

To do this, groups of three to five people are encouraged to create engaging and active Twitter accounts to be used over the next three months to promote charitable causes.

The chosen winner will receive the Twitter MENA Awards and Good Ads Grant.

Likewise, the popular social media platform has partnered with the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR) to raise awareness on the plight of refugees.

UNHCR’s Twitter campaign eyes to generate attention through messages and information shared, with the intention of convincing more people to extend help through donations.

The global campaign – with the UAE serving as a launch pad – will gather the tweets generated until 30th November.

The results will be shared during the Global Summit on Refugees in Geneva by end of the year.
