Get ready to make a splash for a good cause as Swim for Clean Seas returns on 21st April, 2024, at Saadiyat Beach. Founded by open-water swimmers and environmental advocates Felicia and Almer Agmyren in 2018, this annual event aims to raise awareness about ocean pollution and promote community engagement in environmental conservation.

Swim for Clean Seas offers a dynamic program designed to educate and inspire participants of all ages and abilities. Whether you’re a seasoned swimmer or just starting out, join us for a morning of fun, interactive activities, and a refreshing swim in the crystal-clear waters of Saadiyat Island.

Starting at 6:30am, registered swimmers will take to the seas, followed by engaging speakers, games, raffles, and prizes. This year, we’re proud to collaborate with The Yas SeaWorld Research & Rescue Center, bringing educational games and marine conservation information to the event.

In addition, the event introduces ‘School Swim Ambassadors’ showcasing their efforts in plastic waste reduction through pre-event workshops. Joining us on the day is Swim for Clean Seas Ambassador, Dr. Sarra Lajnef OLY, urging the community to support the cause and take action for cleaner seas.

Event co-founder Felicia Agmyren emphasizes the power of community collaboration in ocean conservation, stating, “Together, we can make a greater impact for the health of our seas.”

Dr. Elise Marquis, Director of The Yas SeaWorld Research & Rescue Center, highlights the importance of blending enjoyment with education to raise awareness about ocean stewardship.
