The eagerly awaited second edition of the Bike Abu Dhabi Gran Fondo is just around the corner, scheduled for 18th November, 2023. Cyclists from all across the region are gearing up to tackle the challenging 154km-long route.
This event is not just for the pros; it’s open to all cycling enthusiasts. If you can complete the 154km route at a minimum average speed of 28km/h, this community event is perfect for you. As the race day approaches, here are some expert tips to prepare for the event.
New Team Discount Offer: 25% off for Teams of 25+
Registrations are filling up rapidly, with strong representation from leading cycling clubs and teams in the region. Teams of 25 or more cyclists can enjoy a 25% discount. This amazing offer is available until 15th November or until all spots are filled. Teams with 14 to 24 riders can also get a 10% discount on their race entries.
Race Route Reminder
The 154km fully-supported race route for the Bike Abu Dhabi Gran Fondo is truly unique. Starting in Al Bahya, riders will journey onto the E16 road to Sweihan. From Sweihan, cyclists turn left onto the E20 road, passing through sand dunes to Nahil, and then right at E95 Street, reaching Al Bidda area.
The peloton will continue into the Green City of Al Ain, culminating at the finish line at Al Ain Cycle Track. To ensure a smooth journey for all participants, the Abu Dhabi Sports Council is offering bus transport from the finish line back to Al Bahya, available for purchase during race entry at Premier Online.
Fine-Tuning Your Training
The Abu Dhabi Sports Council provides free access to world-class training for all Bike Abu Dhabi Gran Fondo participants. Designed by trainers from the UCI World Tour-winning team, UAE Team Emirates, the 10-week training program prepares cyclists of all levels for the event.

Gear Up for Race Day
Participants gearing up for the Bike Abu Dhabi Gran Fondo should have the following equipment:
- Road bike (TT bikes, mountain bikes, and motorized bikes are not permitted).
- Cycling kit, including a bike helmet.
- Cycling shoes with clip-in pedals.
- Nutrition and hydration (hydration stations will also be available along the route).
