Wizz Air Abu Dhabi is the newest capital airline to start flights from the capital on 01st October.
Wizz Air Abu Dhabi is a joint venture between ADQ, one of the region’s largest holding companies, and Wizz Air Holdings Pic. Together they are working on launching affordable options to six routes which will include Alexandria, Athens, Kutaisi, Larnaca, Odesa and Yerevan.
The flights will commence only after all the health and safety regulations are met in line with the government mandate. All the cabin crew and passengers will be required to wear face masks and gloves on entry after a diligent sanitisation is done of the aircraft.
Shareef Al Hashmi, CEO of Abu Dhabi Airports has confirmed that, “In addition to implementing comprehensive health and safety measures across our airports, we have made a series of strategic investments to ensure our facilities and services make Abu Dhabi International Airport an optimal regional gateway for airlines from across the world. We look forward to welcoming departing and arriving passengers for their first Wizz Air Abu Dhabi flights.”
These flights will serve as an economic boost to the UAE travel industry which is slowly but gradually returning back to its normal pace. In addition to having the lowest fares starting at AED 129, the aircraft is also expected to have the lowest environmental footprint.
József Váradi, Chairman of Wizz Air Abu Dhabi and CEO of Wizz Air Group said: “I am delighted to announce the initial network of Wizz Air Abu Dhabi and reconfirm the start of its operations on 01st October. This announcement is the first step of a long and much awaited journey as we are dedicated to developing our presence in Abu Dhabi, contributing to Abu Dhabi’s economic diversity strategy while offering ever more affordable travel opportunities on our low fare network. We much appreciate the support we have been given by the government, its affiliated organizations and our local business partners in Abu Dhabi.
To avoid any contact in the airports, passengers are advised to book and make all their additional purchases online prior to reaching the airport.
The flights can be booked at wizzair.com and the airline’s mobile app which is also available in Arabic.
