Yas Island has partnered with Reel Cinemas and Brag Events to debut the Yas Drive-in Cinema for residents.
Let’s face it. Sitting in a theatre as you munch on popcorn and sip on some diet Pepsi has a certain charm that your couch cannot offer. While theatres are still close, Yas Island has decided to create a movie experience that we can enjoy. Our very own drive-in with snacks and confectionery !
The premise is simple. You book your tickets online at Reel Cinemas, drive up through the East gate entrance and enjoy the movie on a LED screen as you sit in your own car. For now, the movies will be popular picks that made a mark and will be screened on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
The venue will be open from 7 pm and the movie stars at 8 pm. You will listen to the movie audio through a special radio channel on your car stereo; details of which will be given to you as you reach the venue. That’s right, the summer heat is not going to get in the way of your movie experience.
Mad Max Fury Road, Crazy Rich Asian, The Martians – it really is a bucket list line-up. Priced at AED 65, each ticket allows a car of maximum 4 people to attend the movie. The ticket also includes 2 complimentary food and beverage options and allows you to order more should you need it. Quite a steal!
The usual safety precautions of wearing a mask and gloves need to be followed which will also be enforced by the team on-site who will also ensure that temperatures are checked and that social distancing is maintained at all times. Tickets are already on sale.
