Giant Outdoor Maze Spotted In Marina Mall, Abu Dhabi

Giant Outdoor Maze

Imagine our excitement when we learned that a giant outdoor mobile maze has emerged in Marina Mall just recently.

From Jorge Luis Borges’ Labyrinths to Umberto Eco’s The Name of the Rose to Gina Wohlsdorf’s Security – there’s just something about the maze that’s fascinating, exciting and even terrifying for us humans.

The challenge of getting lost and the thrill of finding a way out is an exhilarating feeling no doubt.

Set over 2,787 sq.mt., the giant outdoor Wonder Maze – touted as the largest mobile maze in the world – is a dizzying labyrinth consisting of 25,000 sq.mt. of tarpaulin, 1,700 m of column piped and 8,000 m of rope to make paths and grids.

And in case you’re wondering, the huge maze is not situated inside the mall but outside, between the Carrefour entrance and Centrepoint to be exact.

The whole experience will take around 45 to 60 minutes, or maybe less if you’re lucky to find the exit right away (we doubt).

Don’t worry though as the Wonder Maze is designed to accommodate all age groups and is family-friendly – and you’re sure to find your way out one way or another.

This giant maze can also be found in Al Ain Zoo.

You might also recall stumbling upon it in late 2018 and early 2019 in Umm Al Emarat Park.

As for its benefits, the maze will test and hone a person’s memory and sense of direction. It’s also a great way to sharpen problem-solving skills and patience (you’ll need lots of it).

So are you up to the challenge? We’ll see you there!

The Wonder Maze is open daily 11am – 10pm until 22nd April.

AED 35; children below 100cm enter for free.
