Places Of Worship Light Up For Peace


Places of worship for Non-muslims in the city illuminates in green in celebration of International Day of Peace.

First observed on 21st September 1982, International Day of Peace, also known as World Peace Day, is an annual celebration dedicated to world peace.

Furthermore, this gesture is also in anticipation of the upcoming ceremony to license various worship venues on 22nd September at Emirates Palace.

The ceremony dubbed ‘ A Call for Harmony’ will be organised by the Department of Community Development.

Places of Worship Light up

State news agency WAM said that the green lighting is in appreciation of the government’s efforts to ‘provide decent lives for all.’ 

The report further stated: “The representatives of the places of worship stressed that the licensing reflects the Emirati leadership’s care to provide support for all community, as well as the Emirati society’s tolerance.”

Places of Worship light up for International Peace Day

The places of worship will remain lit in green until tomorrow, 22nd September.
