Prophet Muhammed’s Birthday falls on 08th October

Recently it was announced the public and private sector in the UAE will have a holiday on 08th October. This is to mark the celebration of Prophet Muhammed’s Birthday.

The Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) of the Department of Municipalities and Transport in Abu Dhabi has announced updates for a smooth flow on this occasion.

The Customers’ Happiness Centres across the Emirate of Abu Dhabi will be closed on Saturday, 8th October. Customers may continue to apply for ITC’s services on its digital platforms through its website, and on the Darb and Darbi smart apps.

Customers can also reach out to the unified service support centre on its toll-free number 800850 and TransAD 600535353, which are available 24/7.

Surface parkings will be free of charge during the holiday, starting from Saturday until 7:59 am on Monday, 10th October. Parking spaces at the Musaffah M-18 truck parking lot will also be free of charge during the official holiday.

Drivers are urged to avoid parking in prohibited areas and blocking traffic movement. Drivers have to park in designated areas and avoid residential parking spaces from 9:00 pm until 8:00 am.

The Darb toll gate system will be free of charge on Saturday 08th October on Prophet Muhammed’s birthday. It will resume on Monday, 10th October during the regular peak hours (from 07:00 am to 09:00 am and from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm).

The public buses in Abu Dhabi will continue to run as per their usual schedule throughout the week.
