Motorists driving without a number plate or ones that are unclear will be fined.
There have been a number of rules and regulations released this year to ensure that the Abu Dhabi streets have responsible drivers that can be held accountable should they commit a violation.
Along that line, the Abu Dhabi Police have announced that from now drivers operating vehicles with blurred, hidden or covered number plates will be fined AED 400.
The number plate of your vehicle is what identifies the car and its records for authorities and cameras on the roads. Therefore, the police have made it a mandate that all cars should ensure that their number plates are not obscured.
They have also urged the community to report any cars that may be defaulting on this rule.
