Movement within the emirate and in and out of the emirate is affected with the extension of the travel ban.

Abu Dhabi authorities have announced that movement in and out of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, and between regions, will be restricted for a further seven days.

The ban is effective from today, Tuesday, 9th June.

The announcement was made by the Abu Dhabi Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Committee for the Covid-19 Pandemic, in collaboration with Abu Dhabi Police and the Department of Health.

It was seven days ago today that the first travel ban was put in place.

There are exemptions to the ban for those working in vital sectors, chronic disease patients visiting hospitals and the transportation of vital goods. Those exempt will be required to apply for a movement permit

Residents will still be able to move within their region but must adhere to the latest hours of the National Sterilisation Programme, which is 6 am to 10 pm.

The new restrictions form part of the UAE’s strategy in the fight against the spread of COVID-19.
