Chinese New Year Celebrations in Abu Dhabi

On 25th January, the world will officially say hello to the Year of the Rat to mark Chinese New Year.

The day is traditionally observed with fireworks (as expected), lion and dragon dances, and lots of food to symbolize prosperity throughout the year.

And you don’t need to fly to China to soak up the festivity. Luckily for us, there are plenty of places here in Abu Dhabi that are celebrating the occasion.

Serving authentic Chinese cuisine is this chic restaurant on Al Maryah Island.

The All Day Prosperity Feast will roll out flavours from four different locations in China from noon to 11pm. Guests will be served with a buffet featuring duck and chicken dishes, soups, salad and dim sum, among many others. From AED 388 with soft drinks and AED 488 with house beverages.

Meanwhile, a special set menu inspired by traditional Chinese New Year dishes including wok-fried wagyu beef, lobster dim sum and dessert platter will be on the table from 26th January until 10th February. AED 298 per person.

Fill up on Oriental delights to celebrate Chinese New Year at the restaurant’s pan Asian Night and special brunch.

The promenade at Al Maryah Island will celebrate Chinese New Year with a live entertainment, shows and activities from 23rd to 24th January.

Activities on the ground include Ming vase designing, Kung Fu dancing, acrobatic dancing, mask changing performances, drum shows and more.

A dazzling fireworks display will brigthen up the evening sky on the event’s last day.
