In alignment with the UAE’s extended Year of Sustainability, The Galleria Al Maryah Island is gearing up for the next phase of its “Embrace Nature, Inspire Change” initiative alongside the Emirates Environmental Group.
On 08th March, On March 3,000 Acacia and Ghaf trees took roots in Abu Dhabi, thanks to the unwavering support of the local community. But this isn’t just about planting trees; it’s about fostering a deep-rooted commitment to environmental stewardship. In the inaugural phase launched back in June 2023, The Galleria rallied the community, rewarding the first 200 daily pledges with AED 100 gift cards, totaling an impressive AED 300,000. For each participant, a tree was pledged, laying the groundwork for a greener tomorrow.
Why Acacia and Ghaf trees, you ask?
These resilient species thrive in arid conditions, embodying the spirit of endurance amidst adversity. The Ghaf tree, revered as the UAE’s national emblem, not only withstands drought but also sustains local ecosystems, embodying peace and stability in the desert landscape. Meanwhile, Acacias, with their extensive root systems, tap into underground water sources, making them stalwarts of survival in hot climates.
