Traffic Fines in Abu Dhabi

Avoiding Accidents

Abu Dhabi Police issued a crucial reminder and warning to all motorists, emphasizing the utmost importance of adhering to traffic rules for road safety.

The authority specifically urged drivers to take proactive measures to prevent accidents. This includes refraining from tailgating other vehicles on highways, unnecessary honking, and the use of high beams. Such behaviors can distract and disrupt fellow motorists, leading to potentially dangerous accidents.

In addition, Abu Dhabi Police stressed the significance of driving in the right lane when traveling at slower speeds. This practice is essential to ensure road safety for all users. Failing to yield to vehicles with the right of way or obstructing the left overtaking lane can result in a fine of AED 400.

Insufficient space between vehicles is identified as one of the primary causes of traffic accidents. In Abu Dhabi, this violation carries serious consequences.

Offenders risk having their vehicles impounded, with a steep release fee of AED 5,000. The vehicle will remain in custody until the fee is settled, provided it is done so within three months.

After this period, the vehicle may be subject to auction. Furthermore, this violation incurs a fine of AED 400 and results in 4 black points on the driver’s record.

For the safety of all road users, Abu Dhabi Police strongly encourages strict compliance with these traffic rules and regulations.
